Too Much of a Good Thing...

"Too much of a good thing is still too much!"

You'll hear me say that from time to time and it is so true.
Just because it's healthy, organic and/or good for you doesn't mean you should over consume. A calorie is still a calorie; no matter what you're eating you will gain weight if you eat more calories than your body uses in a day!
Macronutrient Calories 
Carbohydrate provides 4 calories per gram.
Protein provides 4 calories per gram.
Fat provides 9 calories per gram.

This is a generalization of macronutrients. Macronutrient consumption changes depending on your specific goals. For instance body builders or those looking to build some muscle (ladies don't be afraid of muscle you will NOT bulk up! Plus, muscle burns more calories throughout the day and at rest! BONUS! But more on that at some point) will need more protein and less carbs. On the other hand long distance runners may need to consume more carbs because carbs are needed to fuel them through.


  1. Sometimes our little minds tell us it's okay because it's healthy and because it's healthy EAT AWAY!! Then when we gain unwanted weight we wonder how in the world that happened!
